Back to School

My maternity leave ended today. I think I coped pretty admirably leaving the baby (and of course the boy) in the very capable hands of granny for the day. There were no tears from anyone and coming back to them after a day is the best thing in the world. I think today was the longest I've been away from Grier and she did really well as of course I knew she would.I got lots done at school getting my art area ready for kids next Monday. I found lots of forgotten dusty art materials and threw out some manky old sponges and brushes. I prepared a Powerpoint presentation for the older children I'll see next week and cut paper and sorted all the oil pastels into tubs by colour. I'm really looking forward to catching up with the kids I know and meeting all the little ones I don't. I'm looking forward to chatting with my colleagues every week. A day to stretch my brain a little every week can only be a good thing. I'm so lucky to leave my children with a loved family member and head off to my school which feels like home. Of course what did Brodie want to do this evening? Paint! We compromised with a magic paint book - the one you paint with water to make the colours appear. I know it's not really painting in the truly creative sense......but it's not messy and the boy loves it - win, win!
