A beautiful friend is expecting a baby - and I am literally fit to burst with happiness for her. She gave me permission to start knitting, so started I did. I wanted something simple and following the success of O's cardigan I chose this pattern. If you're a knitter you'll know that garter stitch is the simplest stitch you can do, it's literally just rows and rows of knitting, no purling or fancy stuff at all. But there's something really squashy and soft about it that seems perfect for babies and it's sweetness is in the simplicity.
The kimono style wraps around the body and will hopefully be warm for this early spring baby. I really love the way this came out, the pattern is simple to follow and there is little sewing up to do.
