When I look at these photos from Grier's birthday and her party I am so relieved so see how small and childlike she still is. I think the whole starting big school thing has messed with my perception and all the talk of reading and writing and new friends and experiences had led me to believe my baby was gone forever but not so. As usual she had a few firm requests for her birthday and we did our best to make them happen.
We did presents and pancakes in the morning and then hit up the soft play. The afternoon was filled watching The Powerpuff Girls movie at home with popcorn and then swimming lessons. She put in an early request for cheese pizza for tea and chose chocolate trifle for dessert.
New bigger skates were one of her presents from us and the beautiful weather was fabulous for trying them out. We scooted to the park for a play before bed. Check out my weeds - this is about the extent of what I've managed to grow this summer sadly.
On Saturday we had a little party with some of Grier's friends which was noisy, brightly coloured, filled with glitter and did I mention the noisy? It was lovely to see Grier with her friends and hear them chatting and playing. I think, at least I hope it was everything she wanted.
Big brother joined in and made me proud with his crafting skillz
I am not exactly sure what's happening here but I giggle everytime I see it so thought you would all appreciate it too:)
